Her senior research project was a 20 minute documentary on the youth development program YELL (Youth Engaged in Leadership and Learning), whom she had worked with for over a year. Early 2005 lead Kelly to the doors of Stitch Lounge, where she found a multitude of amazing kindred spirits. She soon transitioned into a permanent staff member and instructor, where she discovered a surprising aptitude for teaching. In September 2008 Kelly joined the group of Turning Heads Project instructors at the Sewing and Fashion Design Program.  At the end of 2008 she and fellow Turning Heads instructor Hannah McDevitt also founded Craft Haven Collective, a new sewing and crafting school in San Francisco.";

			paragraph = "From a young age, Hannah has been involved in arts and crafts. Her grandmother taught her how to sew, quilt, knit, embroider, and cross-stitch. In high school, she was introduced to painting, photography, and fiber arts. In 2004 she made the trek to San Francisco to study at Apparel Arts. There she learned the art of flat pattern drafting, draping, and tailoring. Only one week after setting foot in the Bay Area, Hannah began working and teaching at Imagiknit, a local store offering the largest selection of yarn and knitting supplies on the West Coast. For the next two years, she broadened her knitting expertise. In late 2004, Hannah was introduced to the Stitch Lounge Community. Over the course of the next 4 years, she made a name for herself as a passionate and very patient instructor. Hannah joined Turning Heads in 2006 at the early beginnings of the Sewing and Fashion Design Program, and has since then helped the program flourish. At the end of 2008 she and fellow Turning Heads instructor Kelly Williams founded Craft Haven Collective, a new sewing and crafting school in San Francisco.";

She wrote her thesis on media education and the importance of teaching young people, especially those who are disadvantaged, how to produce their own media as a way to integrate them into the public dialogue, and to encourage them to be active citizens.<br><br> Theodora has been involved in media work for the past six years in a variety of ways, from outreach and PR to production.   She volunteered with Indymedia and with Pacifica&rsquo;s &ldquo;Peacewatch.&rdquo;   In 2005, she helped Project Censored edit and write their 2006 edition of  &ldquo;25  Most Censored Stories.&rdquo;  She has also recently worked with OTX-West in Oakland in their digital storytelling program.  Currently, there is an independent documentary project in the works.<br><br> At Log Cabin Ranch, Theodora has worked with the kids on projects that include digital story-telling, radio interviews, and web design.  Currently, she is working in conjunction with Youth Sounds to assist in teaching digital sound production, where the students use sound software to learn the basics of creating music and work towards creating original songs.  As the young men proceed through these projects, they have had a great increase in the level of computer literacy, as well as confidence in their ability to do their work.  They are always eager to show off their projects with pride, and, while it may not be a conscious understanding, they are beginning to see the importance of these skills for having a voice and sharing their ideas with others.   Through the course of these projects, they become increasingly interested in attention to detail and aesthetic in their work, as well as showing an  overall increased sense of engagement. These are all things that will help them approach whatever work they choose in a way that employers will appreciate.  Hopefully they will appreciate these things in themselves so they can react to the world with a healthy, independent sense of self.";
